Our Beginnings

In August of 1992, I went on a holiday with a group of people who were virtual strangers. During a week's stay in Europe, we bonded. It was an experience I wanted to keep.. I wondered, how could I remember all the details and be able to share this experience with others, forever?

I had never seen a keepsake that encompassed every aspect of a particular wonderful moment in time. Typical journals seemed lifeless and incapable of capturing the beauty and emotion of this event. I decided then that I wanted to develop folios for memories... milestones in people's lives to be recorded for future generations.

That year I began exploring and experimenting with this concept. On my mother's 60th birthday in November 1993, I made a prototype which received a heartwarming response. This handmade folio was the first of my "A Sacred Memory" collection. These folios allow everyone to participate in the event.

During the next four years, we enhanced the first memory folio. A Sacred Memory's Women's Folio became a convenient and organized way of creating a personalized remembrance of graduations, going-away parties, weddings and baby showers, retirements, birthdays, and any of the other distinct milestone events in the lives of women. In 1998, the Women's Folio was completed.

The Life Celebration Folio was inspired by our friend, Father Roland Bunda, who was supporting two friends who were dying of cancer. Our company wanted to develop a folio that would help provide a focus and sense of acceptance to those going through the transition, as well as to the surrounding healthy family and friends. This new folio became a way to share, celebrate, and remember a special individual in times of crisis. A Life Celebration was also created for CELEBRATING the lives of others not only in transition. In ancient times, cultures celebrated the lives of their people. This ritual is still practiced today in some countries. A Sacred Memory would like to keep this custom alive.

Our mini folio collection was gifted through the feelings of each theme and intuition.

The first series focused on memories, true friendship, soul mate connections and more. The second, The Healing Series was gifted as I was working on issues in my own life as well as listening to others share their life issues. The entire line will encourage countless others to begin to express their own feelings, create stronger bonds, heal relationships and build a better tomorrow one person at a time.

Each mini folio gives a direction and stimulates peoples' hearts in numerous ways, from the giver to the receiver to those who are invited to read the completed gift. Our healing series is also a wonderful tool to help others learn, grow and share as well as a supportive cushion for those who are in need. "Hope Blooms" was conceived when my child was very ill. I was across the board with my emotions. I had moments of hopelessness. It would have been a welcome gift if my relatives and or friends came together and shared thoughts and sentiments to give the boost our family needed.. "REBUILDING TRUST" is a life issue most must face one time or another. What does trust mean to you ? How do we look at trust in a new light and embrace it as a life teacher? Can we heal from HURT? Can we learn to FORGIVE? There are layers of "Forgiveness." How do we get to the deepest layer of forgiving someone? Can we learn to "LET GO?" Letting go is one of the most profound life experiences. How about, "FINDING JOY IN TODAY" when today looks dim? "CHOICES?" The choices we make today may effect our tomorrows? Are we ready for this life change? What does "TRUE LOVE" really mean? Will you ever be ready to love unconditionally?
